Women’s Ministries

Our Women’s Ministries leader likes to challenge women in our congregation to use their talents and spiritual gifts for the glory of God in the home, church, and community. She also likes to serve our congregation by providing for women in a way that deepens their faith, spiritual experience, growth, and renewal.

Women of faith pray, that is a fact. Our leader is suggesting a book for continued growth in your prayer life: In the Name of Jesus, Power to Pray for People and Places by Ron E.M. Clouzet. And it will give you exactly that.

Clouzet, as a Pastor, gives personal examples of the lives of people who prayed through insurmountable odds and God answered in miraculous ways. He states in the book, “This is a book on strategic praying. The first section is about what the Bible teaches regarding strategic prayer. The second part deals with practical strategies for prayer in the local church. Prayer is the greatest resource of the church. It is not the only thing you must do, but it is the greatest thing you can do.”

She encourages you to read this book and continue to pray! “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.” James 5:18

We like to align this ministry with our health message.

Below you will find recipes and tips she shares to help you on your journey to better health.

Comfort Foods That Don’t Bring Comfort, by Rachel Cabose

When you think of comforting, pick-me-up food, you likely think of something sweet, creamy, cheesy, or rich. But research has proven that the foods that will actually make you feel the happiest are healthy foods, not traditional comfort foods. People who eat plenty of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains while minimizing animal products and processed foods, experience greater happiness and life satisfaction. They also have a lower risk of depression.

Women tend to reach for comfort foods when they are stressed, while men frequently use them when they are celebrating a good day or success.

Two out of three Americans say they turn to their favorite comfort food as a mood booster with the top 3 comfort foods being pizza, chocolate, and ice cream.

Are You Aware, by Michele Deppe, Vibrant Life Magazine, p. 17

“Bad mood foods that bring you down include highly processed foods loaded with sugar. High-sugar diets lead to problems with memory, learning, and concentrating and may lead to brain disorders such as Alzheimer’s. Experts have also seen links between a high-sugar diet and depression, anxiety, fatigue, poor concentration, forgetfulness, and a host of other symptoms.”

A Call to Stand Apart, p. 26

“Through nature and revelation, through His providence, and by the influence of His spirit, God speaks to us. But these are not enough; we need also to pour out our hearts to Him. In order to have spiritual life and energy, we must have actual intercourse with our heavenly Father. Our minds may be drawn out toward Him; we may meditate upon His works, His mercies, His blessings; but this is not in the fullest sense, communing with Him. In order to commune with God, we must have something to say to Him concerning our actual life.

Prayer is the opening of the heart to God as to a friend. Not that it is necessary in order to make know to God what we are, but in order to enable us to receive Him. Prayer does not bring God down to us, but brings us up to Him.”

“In the various branches of the work of God’s cause, there is a wide field in which our sisters may do good service for the Master. Among the noble women who have had the moral courage to decide in favor for the truth for this time are many who have tact, perception, good ability, and who may make successful workers. The labors of such Christian women are needed.
